How to Specify an Agricultural LED Work Light with a Position-Light Function
Agricultural machinery lighting must handle more than darkness. The lamp may face dust, rain, washdown, vibration and changing mounting positions across tractors, harvesters and sprayers.
The 805 combines a 60W driving light with an amber or white position light. It provides a useful example of how OEM buyers should build a complete agricultural-light specification.
Start with the Operating Position
A tractor may need forward coverage, side illumination, rear implement visibility or light from an inverted machine-arm position. The 805 brochure shows vertical, horizontal, upright and inverted mounting.
This flexibility can reduce the number of unrelated lamps used across a machine program. Engineering teams should still verify beam direction and bracket clearance in every location.
Review Dimensions Before Sample Approval
The lamp body is shown at approximately 160 mm high, 100 mm wide and 51 mm deep, with 191 mm overall height. These dimensions affect clearance around cab roofs, mirrors, guards and moving equipment.
A sample should be fitted to the real machine structure. Dimensional drawings reduce risk, but they do not reveal vibration or operator glare.
60W Driving Function and Position Light
The main driving function is rated at 60W. The perimeter position light is available in amber or white.
Combining the two functions can reduce separate brackets and wiring. Buyers should define how each function is controlled and verify whether the chosen position-light color is permitted in the destination market.
10–48V DC Platform
The wide voltage range supports 12V, 24V and certain higher-voltage machinery systems. For an equipment manufacturer or distributor, one electrical platform can reduce SKU complexity.
The connector, cable size, switch and circuit protection must still match the actual power requirement and machine system.
IP67 and Material Selection
The 805 uses an aluminum housing and polycarbonate lens and is rated to IP67. It is specified from -40°C to +60°C.
These features connect directly to warranty cost. Water ingress, damaged lenses and temperature failures create service calls during critical agricultural seasons. Installation connectors and cable joints should be protected to a compatible level.
Approval Documents
The brochure lists ECE R10, ECE R148, ECE R149 and CE. Buyers should request documents for the exact model and functions.
Do not assume that one approval automatically covers every position-light color or installation. Approval review should happen before vehicle homologation, packaging or bulk inventory.
B2B Application Range
The 805 is relevant to tractor manufacturers, agricultural equipment suppliers, sprayer and harvester builders, aftermarket distributors and fleet maintenance companies.
RFQ Checklist
Specify the mounting position, orientation, position-light color, voltage, connector, cable length, order quantity, packaging and required documents. Test samples for vibration, glare, beam coverage and clearance.
The best agricultural lamp is not simply the brightest. It is the one that installs consistently, survives the operating environment and is supported by the correct model-level documents.
