9-Inch Auxiliary LED Driving Light Procurement Checklist | 811 Buyer Guide
A practical B2B checklist for specifying 9-inch auxiliary LED driving lights: fitment, voltage, amber position light, IP67 and approvals.

9-Inch Auxiliary LED Driving Light: A Procurement Checklist for Off-Road and Commercial Vehicles
A 9-inch auxiliary LED driving light must solve more than a visibility problem. For B2B buyers, it must fit the vehicle, operate across the required voltage range, survive vibration and weather, and arrive with product data that the importer, OEM team and installer can all use consistently.
The 811 is a 9-inch example with a supplied 10–48V DC input, 30 LED chips, 12,000 lm output, amber position light, aluminum housing, polycarbonate lens, IP67 and ECE R10/R148/R149.
The purchasing pain point: too many variants, too little validation
Distributors often source separate lighting versions for 12V, 24V and special-vehicle platforms. The stated 10–48V DC input range can reduce that inventory split. That brings commercial value only if the buyer validates the lamp’s operation, protection and switching behavior on each target platform.
The 811 also integrates an amber position light. Combining functions can simplify the front-end installation and help manufacturers reduce wiring and component count. But buyers must define whether amber is permitted and appropriate for the intended market and mounting position.
Check the whole mechanical package
The supplied size is 236 × 251 × 83 mm. Procurement teams should review the lamp, bracket, cable exit and fastener access as a single assembly. This helps prevent a common late-stage problem: the lamp face fits, but the housing depth or cable bend does not.
Aluminum housing and polycarbonate lens are useful specification points because they connect directly to maintenance and warranty exposure. They should be checked during sampling alongside bracket stability, surface finish and vibration resistance.
IP67 and certification discipline
The declared product protection level is IP67. Final water resistance depends on the complete installation—connector, cable routing, mounting direction and any vehicle-side splice. The supplied materials list ECE R10/R148/R149. Buyers can confidently request those documents, but should still verify exact scope and local acceptance for the configuration they order.
B2B sample plan
- Confirm the 236 × 251 × 83 mm installation envelope.
- Test beam coverage and glare on the finished vehicle.
- Validate 10–48V DC behavior on the intended platform.
- Inspect the bracket, cable and connector arrangement.
- Confirm amber position-light visibility in the planned position.
- Review relevant certificates against the exact model.
- Agree packaging, branding and traceability.
- Use pilot orders to measure installation time and service feedback.
The right RFQ includes application, target market, annual quantity, mounting drawing, cable/connector requirement, private-label needs and document requirements. It gives both buyer and supplier a shared approval standard and reduces purchasing risk before the first container is loaded.
